And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul.
And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,
We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.
Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words.
For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.
But the chief captain Lysias came upon us, and with great violence took him away out of our hands,
Commanding his accusers to come unto thee: by examining of whom thyself mayest take knowledge of all these things, whereof we accuse him.
And the Jews also assented, saying that these things were so.
Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:
Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.
And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
Now after many years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings.
Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.
Who ought to have been here before thee, and object, if they had ought against me.
Or else let these same here say, if they have found any evil doing in me, while I stood before the council,
Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you this day.
And when Felix heard these things, having more perfect knowledge of that way, he deferred them, and said, When Lysias the chief captain shall come down, I will know the uttermost of your matter.
And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come unto him.
And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.
And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.
But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix' room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

  徒 24:1> 那些人仍不死心?又出动了,他们在这里做什么?说什么? 

  24:1 原告人──大祭司亚拿尼亚、律师帖土罗,以及几位长老来到了。他们走了九十六公里路来到凯撒利亚,对保罗作出虚假的指控。尽管他们杀害保罗的阴谋失败了( 23:12-15 ),但他们仍然坚持要将他置于死地。 

  徒 24:2-21> 帖土罗也真厉害,你知道他如何陈述案情吗? 

  24:2-21 帖土罗是一个擅长辩论的人,由宗教领袖特别请来在罗马巡抚面前陈述案件。他控告保罗三条罪状:( 1 )是一个捣乱者,煽动各处的犹太人引起暴乱;( 2 )是未被承认的宗教派别的首脑,这是违反罗马法律的;( 3 )亵渎圣殿。这些宗教领袖希望这些指控能够说服腓力斯处决保罗。 

  徒 24:10-21> 保罗答辩,更传福音,一丝机会也把握;我们嘛…… 

  24:10-21 帖土罗及宗教领袖攻击保罗的证据似乎颇有力,保罗却逐一驳倒了他们的指控。保罗在答辩时,也能够将福音带出来。控告保罗的人不能提出明确的证据来支持他们的指控。例如,保罗被指在亚西亚的犹太人中间引起暴乱( 24:18-19 ),但却没有当地的犹太人出席证明这件事情。这是显明保罗把握任何机会来见证基督的另一个列证(参 24:14 , 24 )。 

  徒 24:22> 腓力斯在支吾以对,奇怪了…… 

  24:22 腓力斯做了六年巡抚,应该知道有关基督徒的事。基督徒平静的生活方式叫罗马人知道基督徒不会到处去引起骚乱。 

  徒 24:25> 人心深处,敏感非常,不可碰?不可触?你也如那长官一样,怕人说到自己内心吗? 

  24:25 保罗的讲论触及腓力斯的内心,令他觉得恐惧。腓力斯像希律安提帕一样(参可 6:17-18 ),娶了别人的妻子。保罗所讲的内容一直都很吸引他;不过,当保罗提到“公义、节制和将来的审判”时,他便不再有兴趣了。只要你所讲的福音内容不会太刺激他人的内心,有许多人会很乐意和你谈论。可是,当你传讲的福音一接触到他们心灵深处时,有些人便会抗拒或走开。然而,这正是福音的内涵──神的能力会改变生命。假如福音没有从原则和教义转化成为改变生命的动力,那么福音便没有功效了。 

  徒 24:27> 腓力斯留保罗在监,原来是别有用心的…… 

  24:27 由于犹太人占大多数,罗马的政治领袖为了维持和平会顺从犹太人的意见。保罗似乎无论走到哪里,都在犹太人中间引起麻烦,腓力斯把保罗留在监里,便可以在离职前仍然与犹太人保持良好关系。──《灵修版圣经注释》
