This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:

And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:

And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:

And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.

And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

　　5 章　圣经中记载了几个家谱。有些人认为这些家谱记载了家族、支派和国家的整个历史；也有些人认为它们并非包括每一个人，只记录了有名声的人或族长。某某生某某可表示父子关系，也可表示某某是某某的祖先。因为在很久以前，有许多地方文字记载的东西很简单原始，甚至没有什么文献。希伯来人把民族的历史口传给后代，家谱就成为一个概要，帮助他们紧记历史。家谱不断延伸且世代相传，它不但保存了家族的传统，更重要的是印证圣经的应许──要来的弥赛亚耶稣基督会是亚伯拉罕的后裔。　

　　从圣经记载的族谱，我们认识到神一个有趣的特性：祂不只看重民族或国家，祂更看重每一个人，所以神用人的名字称呼人，提到他们的寿数和他们的后裔。当你在茫茫人海中感到迷失时，请谨记神爱每一个人，祂爱你也关心你！　

　　创 5:3-5> 我是否对某些人耿耿于怀，而忘了他们也是神宝贵的创造？　

　　5:3-5　如果追溯到亚当夏娃，全人类都是彼此关联的。当我们对人有了成见或仇恨的时候，要记住大家都是骨肉同胞，每一个人都是神宝贵独特的创造。

　　创 5:25-27> 为什么创世记中的人这么长寿？　

　　5:25-27　为什么这些人这么长寿？有些人认为这里记载的年岁是家族的寿命而不是个人的寿命。那些相信这些数字是人实质年岁的人为此有三种解释：（ 1 ）在上古时期，致命的疾病比较少，人类的遗传基因也较纯正；（ 2 ）当时还没有雨水降下， " 空气以上的水　" （ 1:7 ）把宇宙中有害的射线隔开，并保护人类不受环境中危害生命的因素影响；（ 3 ）神赐人长寿，好使他们有时间去 " 生养众多，遍满地面 " （ 1:28 ）。──《灵修版圣经注释》　

四．塞特与他的后裔（五）　　第五章被称为“丧钟鸣报”，因为“就死了”一词常出现。本章记载了弥赛亚的血脉，自亚当到挪亚的儿子——闪的后裔（比较路三36～38）

　　五1～17 神照着自己的样式造亚当。塞持生来与亚当的形象样式相似。其间，始祖堕落，人因罪的缘故失落了神的形象。在第二章17节，神说过那必发生的事，即肉身的死亡出现了。事情记载在第5节，亚当犯罪当天，他的灵已宣告死亡。

　　死是人的归宿和终站，却不是基督徒的归宿；死对基督徒而言，不过是睡觉，是息了劳苦，有一天我们要复活，与主在荣耀中永远同在。

　　五 18～24 这里提到的以诺和拉麦不应与第四章混为一谈。本章第18节的以诺是自亚当以后第七代（犹14），而不是第三代。以诺因着信，与神同行三百年，得到神的喜悦（来一一5）。似乎他儿子的出生对他的生命起了成圣、尊贵的影响（22节上）。事情有良好的开始是好的，但坚定不移地完成到底更为可贵。“行”这个字暗指关系是稳定、渐进的，而非泛泛之交。与神同行乃是一生之久，不只是一小时的表现。

　　人背叛神，不信从神，不服神的管理，因为他相信了那恶者所说，“你们不一定死”的话。但是正如本章所记，亚当的后裔代代落在死亡的定命之下：本章里面共有八次说到“就死了”。可见历史是一个见证人，证明仇敌是撒谎者，也见证神话语的真实。不过，本章也启示了一个胜过罪恶和死亡的原则。以诺所以能不见死，因为他“与神同行”。

　　以诺在大洪水之前，被神接往天上。同样，大灾难开始前，教会将要被提到天上（帖前四13～18；启三10）

　　五25～32 玛土撒拉活得最长寿（九百六十九岁）。“玛土撒拉”这个名字在原文的意思是“到他死时必要施行”或“在他死时将有大事发生。”威廉斯说，玛土撒拉这个名字的意思是“洪水快来”，这就是预言，因为他死那年洪水就来到了。玛土撒拉一百八十七岁生拉麦(25节)，拉麦一百八十二岁生挪亚(28节)，挪亚六百岁时洪水泛滥全地(创七6)，三个数目加起来正好九百六十九年，也就是玛土撒拉死的那一年。也许拉麦给挪亚立名是预言，期望安慰，借着挪亚伟大的后裔——主耶稣基督带给世人安慰。挪亚一名的意思是“安息”。随着年日过去，人的寿数减少。诗篇九十篇10节说，一般人的寿命为七十岁。

五 1 至六 8 亚当的后代　　这包括两个部分。第一部分（五 1-32 ）列出了 10 代，由亚当经他的第三个儿子塞特到挪亚，这是创世记中被拣选之后代的开始，人类救恩便是借着他们而至终临到（挪亚的家庭是在洪水中唯一的生存者）。第二部分（六 1-8 ）集中在洪水之前其中一样最差劣的罪──神的儿子和人的女儿结合（参六 1-8 ），招致神降下洪水。不过在本段结束前，暗示了挪亚将会蒙拯救（六 8 ）。　

　　五 1-32 亚当的谱系　

　　这重复的家谱强调了每一个先祖 4 方面的事情：在第一个儿子诞生时的岁数、在此之后的寿命、「生儿养女」的事实和死时的岁数。列祖完成了神的命令：「要生养众多」（一 28 ），人类也逐渐在地上繁衍。他们的长寿表示他们生存在很久以前的时代，因罪而退化，引致寿命的减短，只是缓缓地出现。　

　　我们不容易明白人在洪水之前的长寿，一个类似的文献，如《苏默人的王谱》列出了洪水前的 8 个王，他们统治的年日一共是 241,000 年。这与第五章所包含的 1,500 年比较起来，本处是适度得多。但这仍然无法解释亚当是如何活了 930 年。在此有不同的解释方法。第一，他们的「年」比我们的短很多，但是洪水的年代计算（七 11 至八 14 ）却表示创世记是假定一年包括了 360 天的。第二，那些在列祖一生中的年数不是代表他自己生命的长度，而是他所建立的宗族。换言之，其中有若干代被省略了。这个说法难以证实，因为从这表列的开始，塞特便明显是亚当的亲子，而在结尾时，拉麦──挪亚──闪、含和雅弗形成了一个连续的次序。第三，那些年数是象征性的，代表天文学上的时期，例如以诺的 365 年相似于阳历中一年的日子。第四，那些数字是象征性的，其中的推算是根据在米所波大米以 60 为单位的数字系统。巴比伦的算术表作了很多 60 的因子（ 30 、 20 、 15 等），以及这些因子的平方数或倍数。所以在创世记第五章和《苏默人王谱》中的许多数字，对受过这系统训练的人而言，就显得很熟悉了，例如 930 （亚当的岁数）是＋ 30 。不过并非所有的数字都可以这样解释，假若它们是代表象征性意义的话，我们也不能解释为甚么某些数字与一些人连在一起。到目前，我们只能说他们的长寿告诉我们这些人是活在许久以前，数字的精确性表示他们是真实的人，曾经活过又死了。〔要知道详细的讨论，请参 G.J.
